Orwell Park.
I understand this to be called locally “The Limehouse” Perhaps the structure housed
a working water wheel to drive a stone crusher as it is adjacent to the river.
The top of it is level with and in line with a horizontal channel coming from the upriver weir.
The Iron ties suggest it was built for mechanical use and early maps show a large holding pond to the north west.
I would not be surprised to see this in one our local estate agents windows as having potential!
A sign opposite the footbridge into the park. Seems to be badly in need of a lick of red and white paint. Any fine will now of course be paid in Euro.
Bushy Park.
Tree surgeons managing trees that present a risk to visitors.
Whilst hollow trees are a refuge for wildlife they can also become an obvious hazard
to passers bye.
